POLITICS, LAW AND THE ARTS IN ARCHAIC SPARTA

Abstract

The article considers the special role of art in the formation of the Spartan Constitution. Also the question is about the role of art in the political life of the Spartans. The author shares the opinion that in Sparta took place a special form of political mediation with the involvement of artists. He also insists on the fact that in Sparta a specific phenomenon, as «art sanctions».
