THE PHENOMENON OF TRADITIONAL JUSTICE IN RUSSIA: THE EXPERIENCE OF EMPIRICAL RESEARCH

Abstract

The article reveals the characteristics, special features of jurisdiction and the significance of the traditional types of trials in a Russian village. The article also describes the law basis of communal courts. On the basis of the vast factual analysis we justify the necessity of the existence of law bodies of public character with minimal formalities and procedures. These law bodies are based on the judges‘ knowledge of local traditions and customs, life conditions and standards.
