"POLITICAL THUGGERY" AND FIGHT WITH HIM IN THE NORTHERN CAUCASUS IN THE PERIOD OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR AND IN THE EARLY POSTWAR YEARS (THE HISTORICAL AND LEGAL ASPECTS)

Abstract

The article tries to summarize experience with manifestations of so-called "political banditry" in the Northern Caucasus in the period of the great patriotic war and in the early postwar years, gained the organs of Internal Affairs, State security and internal security troops. The author analyses the most archival materials from the Russian State military archives, which are documents and materials of the Interior troops of the NKVD/MVD USSR. The article deals with the concept of "political crime" that took place in the Northern Caucasus in the studied period, its characteristics, causes and conditions for its emergence and growth. On the basis of archival material by showing examples of "political crime", chronology of its development at different historical stages. The author of the basic forms and methods of dealing with the criminal aspects of this category, summarizes the main regulations governing service activities of organs and troops of the NKVD/MVD of the USSR in this area.
