Abstract

The paper considers the history of the development of the correctional system in the Russian Federation. The author analyzes the main transformations of the criminal executive system, specifies the characteristics of this body in Russia. Based on the analytical review of the work of competent specialists and current legislation, the modern structure of the correctional system system is outlined, key positive changes in the organization of the functioning of this system are indicated.
