The aim of this article is to study the models of the legal modernization in the republics of the North Caucasus in 1920-30-s: Kabardino-Balkaria, Adygea, North Ossetia, Chechnya, Ingushetia. The author studies the attitude of the Soviet authorities to the traditional mediator court. This court was among all the peoples of the North Caucasus before the revolution (1917). The article was prepared on the basis of archival materials from the archives of the republics of the North Caucasus: Kabardino-Balkaria, Adygea, North Ossetia and the archives that have been destroyed the former archive of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR.Downloads
