DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONCEPT OF STATE SOVEREIGNTY IN THE CONTEXT OF MEMBERSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract

The article discusses the modern essential characteristics of the institution of sovereignty, as one of the fundamental elements of any state, the factors that determine its development. The author analyzes the issues of realization of sovereignty in the conditions of state membership in international organizations, to which in some cases the states transfer exercise of certain sovereign powers, and whose role in the international arena is significantly increasing. The author concludes that nowadays we observe the next stage in the development of the concept of state sovereignty under the influence of globalization and integration processes that determine the creation of supranational mechanisms and structures related to the solution of problems and tasks facing humanity. Nevertheless, this does not lead to the leveling of the category of sovereignty, which still remains the basis for determining the order of interaction between states and international organizations.
