The subject of the study is the political and legal characterization of the content of State sovereignty as a phenomenon inherent exclusively to States. Despite the apparent simplicity of the issue at hand, many aspects relating to State sovereignty remain unresolved and highly debatable. The classic understanding of sovereignty as the supremacy and independence of State power at home and in the international arena is complemented by new approaches, not always convincing and reasoned, used in practice to justify the political superiority of some political forces over others. The understanding of state sovereignty as a feature of the state is questioned. The aim is to prove that state sovereignty is the most important qualitative feature of the state, reflecting its essential state. The study was carried out from the point of view of integrative law-understanding, and special-legal, dogmatic methods of knowledge of state-legal reality were used. As a result, it was concluded that State sovereignty could not be limited, separable, since its sole source was the entire people as a constituent authority. With the democratization of State power, the content of State sovereignty has been transformed. Responsibility to the people and the individual is an indispensable component of the sovereign qualities of State power, such as internal supremacy and independence in the international arena. A sovereign State has not only sovereign rights but also sovereign obligations.Downloads
