Abstract

The article revealed the infuence of the new order of formation of power structures in the North Caucasus republics. Studied institutional changes in the North Caucasian republics in the 2000s, which changed the balance of the place and role of the Federal center and political elite of the North Caucasian subjects of the Russian Federation in the organization of regional authorities. Analyzes the cancellation of direct elections of the higher offcials of the subjects of the Russian Federation and the reduced status of the heads of the republics.
